Don coat
Donn overboots
Don mask assembly and decon
a. Don over garment trousers
i. Extend toes downward and put one leg into trousers
ii. Close slide fastener and fasten 2 fly opening snaps
iii. Pull suspenders over shoulders and fasten snap couplers
iv. Adjust waistband hook-and-pile fastener tapes fro a snug fit
b. Don the over garment coat
i. Don the coat and close the slide fastener and up as far as the chest
ii. Secure the front closure flap hook-and-pile fastener tape up as far as the chest
iii. Pull the bottom of the coat down over the trousers and grasp the loop on the back of the over garment coat
- Pull the loop out and away from the over garment coat and bring it forward between the legs
- Pull the loop until the bottom of the coat fits snugly over the trousers
iv. Place the loop over the webbing strip of the front of the coat and fasten the snap on the webbing strip to keep the loop in place – adjust coat retention cord – tie excess in bow
c. Don the overboots
i. Down boots over combat boots, adjust/secure the strap and buckle fastners
ii. Pull the trouser legs over the multipurpose overboots (MULO) and secure the Velcro on each ankle
d. Don the mask assembly and decontaminate skin using RSDL
Separate event but its coming next
- Don the promask assembly
a. Stop breathing and close your eyes
b. Remove the helmet, put helmet between legs above knees or hold rifle between legs and place helmet on muzzle – if helmet falls continue to mask
c. Take off glasses and place in helmet – if applicable
d. Open the mask carrier w non-firing hand
e. Grasp the mask assembly w firing hand and remove it
f. Place chin in the chin pocket and press into face
g. Hold mask on face
h. Grasp harness tab pulling over the head – ensure harness is centered and straps are even
i. Grasp cheek straps and pull – seal outlet disk valve by placing hand over outlet valve cover, pull straps 1 at a tie until feels straight/tight
Notice the new version has you hold the front while adjusting the back. Much more time efficient
- Clear mask assembly
a. Seal outlet disc valve by placing one hand over the outlet valve cover assembly
b. Blow out hard
- Seal mask assembly
a. Cover inlet portion on filter
b. Ensure mask assembly collapses to face
c. Resume breathing
- Steps 1-3 are w/in 9 sec
Damn thats fast
- Give alarm
a. Gas, gas, gas – w hand and arm signal
b. Close mask carrier and CM
c. Complete required steps w/o becoming a casualty
DCON w RSDL
Again separate task but here it comes
Conditions – your on a FOB in MOPP 2 – get gassed
Standards – decon skin in sequence
- Decontaminate skin w RSDL
a. Remove 1 packet from carry pouch
b. Tear open
c. Remove applicator pad – save packet
d. Scrub exposed skin of hand, palm, fingers w pad
e. Switch applicator to other hand
f. Stop breathing, close eyes, grasp masks beneath chin and pull away from chin enough for on hand
g. Scrub across forehead
h. Flip hand and scrub mask – not to the lenses
i. Beginning at one side – scrub up and down across cheeks, nose, chin and close mouth – avoid ingesting
j. Scrub under chin from ear along jawbone to other ear
k. Turn hand over and scrub inside of mask – including drinking tube – don’t do the lenses
l. Keep applicator
m. Seal mask, clear and check it
n. Use applicator and apply to face skin, neck, ears and throat without breaking seal
- Don the hood
a. Adjust hear harness and check for good seal
b. Pull hood over head and mask – close side fastener and secure w Velcro
c. Place edge of hood around mask and secure
d. Snap barrel locks together – slide up to chin
e. Check hood seal around mask – no skin showing – tie in bow if needed
f. Barrel lock must fasten away from face to keep you from loosening it
- Don gloves
a. Pull sleeves up arm
b. Don gloves and liners
c. pull cuffs over gloves and Velcro
- Complete all tasks w/in 11 min
