A cartilaginous joint because the bones are separated by a broad disc or pad or fibrocartilage.
What is a BURSAE?
A small packet of connective tissue containing synovial fluid.

- at both ends of the clavicles
- between the carpals and tarsals
- at the sacrum and hip bones

- elbow

What is the difference between a fibrous joint and a cartilaginous joint?
Fibrous: dense connective tissues and collagenous fibers
Cartilaginous: hyaline or fibro-cartilage
What is SYNCHONDROSIS?
syn=together, chondros=cartilage
A rigid, cartilaginous connection.
EX: sternum, epiphyseal plate
