Why the effects wonβt be as bad
The effects of the earthquake in Japan, will not be as bad as Haiti as it is a lot more of a developed country and therefore buildings wouldnβt get as damaged.
Why there was also a Tsunami
The epicentre is under the sea which then caused a Tsunami, which had a higher death toll.

Ways in which Japan prevent impacts of earthquakes
Send out warnings, wore hats to protect their heads, turned of power, tsunami preventers, high sea walls.
Causes of the earthquake
Pacific plate drives underneath the other plate (Eurasian Plate), waves travelled 6km per second, fault line on convergent plate boundary, epicentre 130km east of Sendai.
Primary effects
- Cracks in the ground.
- Minor damage.
Secondary effects
- Tsunami hit north of Sendai.
- 15 minutes later hit Sendai.
- Farmland covered in water.
- Sendai airport destroyed.
- Miyako hit next.
