A

After the killing if Michael Luther king she wanted to prove that black people were no different to others.

Method- je

A

A class of 8 year old students.

They would not have been exposed to black people during this time.

She told class it would be hard to demonstrate racism without experiencing it.

She split the class up by their eye colours.

Blues were supreme group 1 day and brown next day.

Brown eyes were given a collar to wrap around their necks to make them stand out.

Blue eyes were given extra privileges including-

  • more lunch
  • access to new lunch gym
  • 5 extra minutes at recess.
  • sitting at front & talked to directly.

They were told to only play with blue eyes and ignore brown eyes.

Not allowing them to drink from same fountain.

She talked negatively of brown eyes.

Moderate long term results.

Inconclusive as to whether the psychological hRm they may have felt may have out weighted the potential benefits.

Prejudice reduction was moderate.

Nearly all participants reported stress as a result.
