inflammation of a vein resulting in redness, swelling, and pain

Symptoms of fluid overload
crackles in the lungs, edema
Air embolisms
can occur from air in the IV causing infection
Extravasation
infiltration of toxic drug (toxic chemical inside the body)
What happens when drug IVs are incompatible
run on different IVs or run one flush than run the other
