Adult onset Still diease: Dx.
Dx: fever, salmon-colored rash, lymphadenopathy, leukocytosis, arthritis
Antisynthetase syndrome: Dx.
Dx: Anti-aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases (anti-Jo-1)
Cervical compressive myelopathy in RA: Tx.
Tx: Surgical decompression with careful intubation to prevent c1-c2 subluxation
Limited cutaneous systemic sclerosis: Tx.
Tx: Methotrexate, mycophenalate, cyclophosphamide, rituximab, antihistamines, low-dose prednisone
Mixed connective tissue disease, Dx.
Dx: clinical signs of 2 of: SLE, polymyositis, systemic sclerosis. Anti-U1-ribonucleoprotein Abs
Relapsing polychondritis, Dx.
Dx: inflammation/damage of cartilage, especially ear, nose, large airways, joints
RA: Dx.
Dx: joint disease in small joints, symmetric with RF, anti-CCP
Sjogren syndrome ass’d lymphoma type.
Associated with non-hodgkin lymphoma
SLE: Dx.
Dx: Skin and joint findings w/ B-symptoms. testing shows anti- dsDNA/smith/U1-ribonucleoprotein/Ro/SSA/La/SSB
Giant cell arteritis, Dx, Tx.
Dx: age >50, new HA, jaw pain with chewing, visual disturbance. confirm with temporal artery bx
Tx: prednisone
Recurrent gout, Tx.
Tx: pegloticase infusion, DC once stops working (i.e., Abs developed)
Polymyalgia rheumatica, Tx.
Tx: low dose roids, empiric
