What is the Balfour Declaration and when was it sent?

A

The Balfour declaration was a letter by the British foreign affairs minister of the time, Baron Rothchild, sent to the Jews saying that it supported their desire for a homeland. IT NEVER SPECIFIED WHERE, IT JUST NOTED SUPPORT.

Why was the Balfour Declaration contradictory?

A

Because the British had promised Palestine independence for their rebellion against the ottomans in World War One. They had also made a shoddy deal with France about giving them Palestine.

A

A

It happened in the year 1956. Israel needed the Suez Canal in order to obtain goods to supply their country. Abdul Nassar thus blocks and attempt to nationalize it. Britain and Franca
E aid Israel and invade the Sinai peninsula. This led to the gaining of land by Israel.

The YOM KIPPUR WAR started on Yom Kippur, a Jewish holiday, in the year 1973. Egypt and Syria attempted to attack Israel and, yet again, Israel won.
