Q

structural isomers (constitutional isomers)

A

have the same number and type of atoms (same molecular formula) but a different structure (atoms joined differently

Q

geometric isomers (cis-trans isomers)

A

can occur in molecules where a C=C double bond prevents any rotation about the bond. If each C of the C=C bond has two different groups or atoms attached, then two different arrangements are possible.
