What are the Sunni articles of faith?
Tawhid
Angels
Holy Books like the Qur’an and Kutub
Prophets (Rasuul)
Akhirah which is afterlife
Al Qad’r which is the Muslim belief that everything in the universe follows a masterplan set by Allah.
What are the Shi’a articles of faith?
Al-Tawhid- belief in oneness and unity of God
Al Adl- belief in divine justice
Al-Nubuwwah-belief in prophethood
Al-Imamah- belief in Imams
Al-Ma’ad-belief that Muslims will be resurrected and judged by God.
What is Tawhid (the nature of Allah?)
That he’s infinite
Omnipotent and omniscient
Merciful and benevolent
Transcendent but also immanent
He is fair and just
What is Risalah (prophethood) ?
An inspired teacher who proclaims the will of God and is his messenger
Communication between God in the form of books, angels and prophets.
What is Shari’a law?
Sharia law applies the insight of the Qur’an to new situations and it explains to them how to properly obey Allah.
Ihram
Simple clothing worn by pilgrims, consisting of 2 lengths of white cloth for men, and for women normal clothing with face and hands uncovered.
