Cranial nerve 2 imnervation?
Optic nerve
Right: right eye
Left: left eye
Synapse with diencephalon (thalamus)
What is the optic chiasm?
Some the fibres will cross over
Only nasal retina fibres will cross
What motor neurone are found in the central gyrus?
Cell bodies of upper motor neurons
Their axons are passed down the cerebral perduncle unti the pyramid and pyramidal decussation : end of brain stem and start of spinal cord
How are axons named?
From where they start and where they end
What is the motor cortex?
M1
Frontal lobe
Pre-central gyrus
Cortico-spinal tract - CST
What is CST- corticospinal tract,?
Upper motor neurone that will release glutamate to the lower motor neurone
What happens to the left motor cortex?
Once through the pyramidal decussation it becomes the right corticospinal tract
What does the right spinal nerve innervate?
Right skeletal muscle of the body
What is the middle cerebellar perduncle?
goes to the cerebellum
The cerebral perduncle goes where?
To the spinal cord
Which cranial nerve comes out fo the cerebellopontine angle?
Cranial nerve 8
What is vestibusl schwanoma?
Most common peripheral nervous system tumour AR the cerebellopontine angle
