CRAO?
relative afferent pupillary defect, pale retina, cherry red spot
Carotid doppler to find source of embolus
AM FUGAX?
Nothing abnormal on examination
arteritic ION?
temporal artery biopsy may help diagnosis, pale swollen disc
vitreous haemorrhage
may have loss of red reflex
Retinal detachment
may have RAPD, may see tear on opthalmoscopy
wet age related macular degeneration
haemorrhage/exudate
dry age related macular degeneration
drusen sign (build up of waster products below retinal pigment epithelium)
open angle glaucoma?
increased intra ocular pressure, a cupped disc, visual field defect
scleritis?
phenylephrine
diabetic retinopathy?
on opthalmoscopy: microaneurysm/dot and blot haemorrhges, hard exudate, cotton wool patches, abnormalities of venous calibre, new vessels
hypertensive retinopathy?
copper or silver wiring
