What does bactoscan measure? How does it work?
It gives an indication of the number of bacteria in the milk. It works by detecting bacteria sized particles, therefore it often underestimates the true value.
What are bactoscan targets?
< 20,000.
What are sources of bacteria in milk?
- Mastitis cow
- Faecal contamination at milking
- Dirt milking machine
- Bulk tank refrigeration failure.
