A

He was the Father of Psychotherapy. His Theory of Catharsis holds relatively true and his study of defense mechanisms led to research into how thoughts lead to behavior and illness.

A

What is the Genetic Paradigm?
A

The method of studying how human behaviour is formed by genetics. It has revealed that genetics can be activated or deactivated by circumstances. Therapists who understand heritability can more effectively create a diagnosis based on parents’ experiences.

What is the Neuroscience Paradigm? What has it revealed?
A

The method of studying how human behaviour is created by neuroscience.

We can use dopamine and serotonin replacements to restore Mental Health. Poor mental health can arise from deficiency of a transmitter, slow or fast reuptake of said transmitter and faulty receptors.

What is the Neuroendocrinal System?
A

This System creates homeostasis by regulating thirst, hunger, sleep and more. It creates stress by releasing cortisol to the HPA Axis (Hyptohalamo-Pituary-Arenal Glands)

What is the Autonomic Nervous System?
A

The System that keeps our body matched to our environment. The Sympathetic component creates the flight or flight response and our Parasympathetic creates our rest and digest response. These systems control our heartrate, heat, digestion and more.
