what is psychoanalytic theory
Freud - behaviour is a function of person and the instincs they bring with them. our inner urges are expressed as drives and emotions. e.g. the libido as it acts as a motivation force

like a complex computer the indivudal is ‘programmed’ to react in a consistent manner to certain kinds of input from the social environment; with minimal though involved.
