Medicines act 1968

A
  • brought most of the previous legislation on medicines together
  • introduced several other legal provisions for the control of medicines
  • provided for a comprehensive system of licensing affecting manufacture, sale, supply and importation of medicinal products into the UK
  • becomes unlawful to engage in these activities except in accordance with the appropriate licenses, certificates or exemptions.

the human medicines act 1968 was replaced largely by the human medicines regulations 2012
