Intervention Effects Flashcards
What is a prognosis?
Ultimate outcome, time required to achieve outcome and likelihood of success
What does the p value indicated?
statistical significance; probability of obtaining result if there was no difference , or that the result was due to chance
What is the effect?
is the magnitude of change
What is the within group effect?
magnitude of change within a group
What is a between group effect?
difference in effect between groups
Absolute effects always has ____
units
what is the standardized effect?
statistical effect size, used to compare the magnitude of change NO UNITS
What does 0.20 mean?
minimal effect, unlikely to be clinically important
what does 0.50 mean?
moderate effect, possibly clinically important
what does 0.80 mean?
large effect likely to be clinically important
What does the confidence interval indicate?
how precise ur estimate of the effect is
What does the smallest confidence interval mean?
Most precise
What does the widest confidence interval?
least precise
What is a confidence interval?
a calculated range of values that includes the “true” value 95% CI most common
