Why were successor states created?

A
  • were created as a result of major European Empires breaking up after WW1
  • Existence confirmed by Paris Peace Settlement 1919
  • Peacemakers wanted to establish a new series of democratic states which would act as a defense against communism

In 1929 King Alexander 1 banned all political parties & became a dictator
