3) Spanish is being thought in school thus widening skills of children and helps eradicate tensions
Negative impacts of migration to the USA
1) language barrier as common Mexican can’t speak fluent English
2) tension between migrants and local and this can lead to segregation and violence
3) immigrants increasing crime rates in drug trafficking (smuggling drugs into the USA)
Positive Experience of Mexican migrants
- family or male might send money back to Mexico
- they are economically active
- they are higher wages if they stay in Mexico
- share their culture with people in the USA
Negative experience of Mexican migrants
- dependant population is increasing with so many young people leaving
- leaving elderly and young infants behind that cannot work
- reducing birth rates
- no workforce to pay taxes to support the elderly in Mexico
Positive impact outwards on Mexico
- legal and illegal immigrants send 6 billion dollars a year back to Mexico
- send money back to their family
Negative impact on Mexico
- loss of brain power
- high dependency
- jobs are abandoned and need replacement
- Mexican countryside has a shortage of economically active people
- some places lost 2/3 of inhabitants
