Q

For hydrogen bonding to occur:

A

1) hydrogen atom must be attached to either O, N, or F atom
(High electronegativity)
2) must be unshared/lone electrons in electronegative atom

Happens in all molecules

Q

How do temporary dipole work?

A

In any atom, electrons are constantly moving, so at any given time you could have more electrons at one side than the other. One side becomes slightly positive and one is slightly negative. This negative poles can induce a positive pole in a neutral molecules and they will be attracted
