How do you treat maggot infestations?
Shave the hair, flush the wound copiously to remove the bulk of the larva, manual pick out the rest of the larva. Instruct the owner how to continue to keep the wound clean and dry at home (patient should primarily remain indoors). Oral antibiotics are prescribed. Capstar can be used orally or topically to kill maggots.
