What is a thermogram?
A
Showing how much infrared radiation something is emitting. On the picture the hotter areas are red and the cooler areas are blue.

What is infrared radiation?
A
Form of electromagnetic radiation that you can feel as heat. It has a shorter wavelength than microwaves but a longer wavelength than visible light.

Can you tell if an object is emitting infrared radiation just by looking at it?
A
Yes, for example when something is glowing then it is also emitting light radiation. You can feel the heat being radiated by a dish that has just come out of the oven, but the dish does not glow.
