What is information processing?
The methods by which data from the environment is collected and used
What is the input?
Input – Information picked up by the senses from the display
What is selective attention?
Filtering out irrelevant information from the display
What is decision making?
Using the short and long term memory to make a decision
What is the output?
Information sent to the muscles to carry out a response
What is the feedback?
Understanding what went right or wrong during the output stage
Give the 4 stages of the information processing model?
Input –> Decision making –> Output –> Feedback
What is you short-term memory?
Lasting 18 seconds, a performer can use this to help with decision making
What is you long-term memory?
Used to recall a similar situation in the past therefore the performer can come up with the correct response
