A

Infertility is the diminished ability of a couple to conceive a child. This may result from a definable cause such as ovulatory, tubal, or sperm problems, or may be an unexplained failure to conceive over a two-year period.

Diagnosis

A
  • BMI
  • Chlamydia screening
  • Female hormonal testing: LH, FSH, anti-mullerian hormone, TFTs, prolactin
  • Serum progesterone = test 7 days before end of cycle
  • 28 day cycle = test at day 21
  • 35 day cycle = test at day 28
  • Semen analysis
  • Sperm count, motility, and morphology
  • Rubella immunity in mother
  • USS pelvis, hysterosalpingogram, laparoscopy and dye test
