anterior cervical node lymphadenopathy, pain on swallowing, fever

generalised rash on face and trunk
chicken pox
tingling in dermatomal sensation followed by unilateral rash and painful lesions
shingles
infection in neonates, extended labour, infection in previous preg
group B strep

management for HSV
topical/oral/iv acyclovir
inv for HIV
ELISA western blot serum HIV rapid test HIV DNA PCR CD4 count viral load
inv for inf endocarditis
3 blood cultures 1 hour apart,
rheumatoid factor
urgent echo
how is glandular fever spread
saliva, kissing disease
management of inf mononucleosis (glandular fever)
support - paracetamol + ibuprofen
corticosteroids if severe
amoxicillin is contraind
management of meningitis
ceftriazone, vancomycin
