Tx: cholera
Doxycyline, ciprofloxacin, oral rehydration
Watery diarrhoea + immunocomp/young child + red cysts on ZN
Cryptosporidiosis
Tx: cryptosporidiosis
Supportive if immunocompetent, ART if HIV +, nitazoxanide or rifaximin
Fever + retro-orbital headache + bone pain + haemorrhagic features
Dengue, symptomatic treatment only
Eastern europe/Asia + sore throat + grey membrane + ‘bull neck’
Diphtheria
Diptheria complication
Heart block
Tx: diptheria
Antitoxin, IM penicillin
Diarrhoea + larva currens + papulovesicular rash buttocks/soles of feet
Stronglyoides
Tx: strongyloides
Ivermectin + bendazoles
Perianal itching at night
Threadworm (enterobius, vermicularis). Given bendazoles
Swimmer’s itch, haematuria, fever/angioedema/eosinophilia

Squamous cell bladder cancer
Tx: schistosomiasis
Praziquantel
Sandflies
Leishmaniasis
Tx: cutaneous leishmaniasis
Only if South/Central America (Brazilianis)
Fever + hepatosplenomegaly + grey skin + pancytopenia
Visceral leishmaniasis (Kala-azar)
