Clear, thin, and watery fluid

Bright red, fresh blood; could be hemorrhagic

Thick, opaque and odorous build up from infection

Total or partial disruption in wound edges; wound separation; skin has separated but underlying subcutaneous tissue has not parted
Evisceration
Protrusion of viscera through an abdominal wound opening; deep enough that abdominal fascia separates and internal organs protrude
