Aspects that make a magazine recognisable to its readers every issue
Media conglomerate
- A company that owns other companies across a range of media platforms
- This increases their domination of the market and their ability to distribute and exhibit their product
News agenda
- The list of stories that may appear in a particular paper
- Reflects style and ethos
Political bias
- Where a newspaper may show support fro a political party through its choice of stories, style of coverage etc.
- May be subtle and implicit or explicit as in the case of tabloid newspapers on Election Day

A radio television broadcaster financed by public money
Simulcast
The streaming of live radio programmes from the website at the same time as on the radio
Splash
The story that’s given the most prominence on the front page of a newspaper
Stripped
Certain programme is broadcast at the same time everyday
Synergy
Combination of elements to maximise profits within a media organisation or product
Tabloid
Smaller newspaper, more compact in size and content focuses more on lighter news
Vertical integration
Own all or most of the chain of production and distribution for the product
Viral marketing
Awareness of the product or advertising campaign is spread through less conventional ways like the internet
