Why Ambassador
-Yoga Originated from India and spread across east, central Asia and Persia
-Its been seen as sustainable lifestyle and can help us in dealing with consumerism and can solve poverty, climate change and numerous wars
-Freedom of Interpretation and flexibility offered by Yoga helped it to penetrate across world i.e. from seekers of Nirvana to those wanting to get rid from stress and remain fit
-Commercialization of Yoga resulted in increased market for Indian products

-Sacred Hindu pilgrimage consisting 4 shrines including Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath & Badrinath in UK
-Believed to be established by saint “Sri Adi Shankracharya” during 8th century

a.Yamunotri is the source of sacred Yamuna River

a.One of the twelve jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva (God of destruction in Hindu Trinity Essential otherwise recreation will not occur)

a.Dedicated to Lord Vishnu i.e. Protector and preserver in Hindu Trinity
b.Adi Shankracharya got freedom from reincarnation here
Significance
-Hindus believed that Chardham opens gates of salvation by washing all sins and must be taken once in lifetime
Conclusion
-GOI initiated Chardham Mahamarg Pariyojana to make Yatra more convenient by widening deficient highways

Padmavat authenticity

A

Mohammad Jaisi Poem Padmavat version
-Rani Padmini born during 13th & 14th century in SriLanka
-Padmini was noted for unparalleled beauty.
-Her talking parrot Hira-mani spoke Padmini beauty at length to Rana Ratan Singh of Chitoor
-Delhi came under Delhi Sultanate and Alauddin Khilji of Khilji dynasty was on ruthless mission to expand his kingdom and Rajputana was his target.
-Khilji set forth for chittor and entrapped Ratan Singh and was told that price of his freedom would be Rani Padmini
-Meanwhile Ratan Singh got killed and Padmini along with other women of Chitoor committed Jauhar to save honour
Authenticity
-Khilji defeated Ratan Singh in 1303 and died 1313 AD. Contemporary Records of this time does not have any reference to queen Padmini
a.Works of Barani and Khusrau has no mention of it
-Many believe that Padmini born in Pungal Pradesh, area between Bikaner & Jaisalmer
Conclusion
-Rima Hooja, historian and author “History of Rajasthan” felt there must have been a queen which inspired the legend of Padmini whose actions was such that she was remembered even after death of Ratan Singh
-Truth lies between history & mythology
