A

If there’s not a response. Try Opening casualty’s airway by placing finger under chin and lifting it forward

What does Breathing mean in the DR ABC code?

A

Check the casualty’s breathing normally. Look at chest movements and listen for breathing. If they are not, you might need to start CPR.

How do you perform CPR?

A

Interlock fingers, place at centre of casualty’s chest. Press down (5-6cm) hard and fast(twice a second).

For child use one hand

For infants use two fingers and press down by a third of infants chest depth

(Don’t stop until casualty starts breathing again, or medical professor takes over)

What does Circulation mean in the DR ABC code

A

If casualty is breathing. Check bleeding signs. Check if there is anything in the wounds. (Don’t try and remove something stuck inside wound)

Then build padding on eaither side of object. or if no object then apply firm pressure on wound to stem flow of blood

And , fasten clean padding to wound with bandage

(Protect yourself from exposure to patient’s blood)

-reassure them confidently
- keep them warm
- make them as comfortable as possible
- avoid moving them unless needed to
- make sure there not left alone
