A

Negative Implications: e.g Bowlby’s theory of maternal deprivation: may stop mother from working and have a negative impact on the economy
Positive Implications: Modern research suggests both parents can provide emotional response necessary for development, so parents can maximise income and contribute more effectively to the economy

What are the implications of research into treating mental health disorders?

A

Positive implications:
- absence from work costs £15 billion a year 1/3 of which are caused by ‘mild to moderate’ mental health disorders
- Can be treated e.g depression, OCD and SSRI’s, systematic desensitisation and CBT
- people will attend work more and improve the economy
