B1: in 1946 the government tried to tackle social problems in britain by introducing the New Towns Act aiming to the end the giant of squalor.
B2: the act aimed to improve housing by building new towns across britain - 14 new towns were built by 1951 examples of East Kilbride, Glenrothes.
F: the new towns act moved people out of overcrowded city slums and took them to nicer country side areas.
A; however, there were few jobs and facilities such as shops created in new towns - this means that although people could live there, they often faced long journeys to travel and socialise.
