Describe the difference between IDEA and Section 504?
IDEA: don’t need medical dx but only certain dx qualify for services; qualifies students for and IEP and primary services
504: requires medical dx or documented disability; requires accommodations made to classroom; students who don’t qualify for primary services can still access related services
When does transition place NEED to be put in place in an IEP?
Age 16
What is the difference between modifications and accommodations?
Modifications: WHAT; changes in what student is expected to learn; may include changes to content, requirements, expected level of master
Accommodations: HOW; changes in how student accesses information; classroom/testing accommodations
