How do you know if Ice Condition has been encountered?
You get a ICE CONDITION Annunciation in the Anti-Ice Synoptic Page
What position do the Engine Bleed Valves fail
They fail open position
When does the cross bleed valve open automatically
When one side of the bleed system fails.
When happens when the ice detectors detect ice.
They turn on both the wings and cowls anti ice system and they stay on 2 minutes after no more ice is detected.
How do you operate the Anti-Ice system if both ice detectors fail?
You must use manual mode.
When does the automatic function of the Anti-Ice system kick in?
at 1700 or 2 minutes after takeoff. Below that you need to set the anti ice in the MCDU prior to push back.
Explain what happens when you set ENG or ALL or OFF in the MCDU prior to push back
- OFF - the anti ice system will be completely off until reaching 1700 feet or 2 minutes than it relays on the ice detector probes and auto system
- ENG - The Cowls will turn on as soon as the engines are started.
- All - The cowls will come on as soon as the engines are started and the Wing Antice will come on at 40kts
With both ENG and ALL you will get an EICAS Message
ENG TDS REF A-I ENG or (ALL)
When are the ADSP and TAT probes heated
