NO
What is the function of the TIMER Position on the windshield wiper panel?
Provides intermittent operation.
If Both windshield wiper knobs are selected to LOW or HI which side do they sync to?

During Initial Power up using the GPU, would you expect the windshield heating system to be active?
After the PBIT is complete and on GPU power only. Would the windshield heated star active?
•YES!, for approx 2 minutes during the PBIT TEST
•NO, they need 2 AC Power sources excluding GPU.
IN FLIGHT
With only one Source of AC Power, what will happen to the FO’s windshield heat?
It will be shed. Unless the Captain’s windshield is inop, in which case it will power the FO side.
After Landing in Icing Conditions
1.) Will anti-ice be provided automatically to the engines for taxi to the gate?
2.) What happen when ON is selected?
1.) *NO
2.) A/I heat is provided only to the operating engine(s) and NOT the wings.
TAXI for TakeOff in Icing conditions and MCDU REF A/I set to ALL
When will A/I protection be provided to the Engines and the wings?
Engines
• immediately after engine start
Wings
• On Take off roll > 40kts
On initial Climb Out with the
MCDU REF A/I “Off”
•When will A/I protection become available automatically?
-1,700 feet AGL

-2 mins after takeoff
In Flight
•What happens if you turn the Ice Protection MODE ON?
•Activates Engine and Wing A/I regardless of icing conditions.

A/I Wing valve Closes
Deactivates the wing anti-ice system. White Stripe Bar Illuminates
When in flight, will the wings and engine anti-ice systems turn off automatically?
Yes, 5 minutes after Icing conditions no longer exist.
When will the windshields be heated?
•On the ground For approx 2 mins during the PBIT test
• After, then when 2 AC power sources are available (excluding the GPU)
What is required to operate ENG & WING ice protection in auto mode?
•ENG & WING Ice Protection Buttons pushed IN
•On the Ground, REF A/I All set in MCDU
•In Flight, operation is automatic through AMS.
