Cardiovascular S/S of Hypothyroidism
- hypotension

- brittle nails
What happens to the GI with Hypothyroidism
- weight gain
- constipation
Lab test that indicate Hypothyroidism
- Decreased T3/T4
- Increased TSH
Treatment for Hypothyroidism
- Levothyroxine
- Liothyronine
Nursing care for patients with Hypothyroidism
- encourage frequent rest periods
- increase room temp, provide blankets
What diet should Hypothyroidism patients be on
-low calorie, high fiber diet
this promotes weight loss, prevents constipation
