A
Life-threatening disorder caused by adrenal insufficiency

What are causes of Addison’s Crisis
A
- infection
- stress, trauma
- abrupt discontinuation of corticosteroids (cortisol)

What will happen to the cardiovascular system with Addison’s Crisis
A
- severe hypotension
- dysrhythmias (hyperkalemia)
- shock

A
- weakness, fatigue
- nausea, vomiting
- dehydration

A
- monitor sighs of shock (decreased LOC, urine output)
- monitor dysrhythmias due to hyperkalemia
- monitor V/S, I&O, weight
