Signs of hypo present in similar way to being drunk
Reduced self-care practices when under the influence

Describe symptoms of hypoglycaemia?

A

First influenced by adrenaline rush

  • sweating
  • anxiety
  • high HR
  • shaking
  • hungry/nausea
  • irritable/aggression

Followed by:

  • confusion
  • drowsiness
  • slurred
  • uncoordinated

Conscious - 15g of quickly absorbed CHO/60ml of fruit juice

Confused - 1.5-2 tubes of glucose gel inside mouth into side of cheek

Unconscious - IV glucose
