Type II Narcolepsy Diagnostic Criteria
PSG and MSLT criteria
PSG: 6 hours of total sleep time
MSLT:
SL < 8 minutes, 2 SOREMS, or 1 SOREM if previous PSG showed 15 minute SOREM
NO CATAPLEXY
Criteria for Idiopathic Hypersomnia
EDS lasting 3 months or more
No Cataplexy
No more than 1 SOREM on PSG/MSLT
AND 1/3 of these:
- MSLT with mean SL < 8 minutes
- 11 hours of sleep on PSG
- actigraphy with average 11 hours of sleep in 1 week
