NI/TX for hyperkalemia

A

monitor all system
discontinue IV K+
for renal impaired –> administer Na+ polystyrene sulfonate (Kayexalate) {_{pomotes Na+ absoprtion and K=excretion)}
administer IV–>Ca gluconate to avert myocardial excitability
IV–>hypertnic glucose (5% dxtrose to remove excess K+ into cell)
