Primary HyperAldosteronism - Causes - 4
A
- Bilateral idiopathic hyperplasia - 60%
- Adenomas - 35%
- Conn’s syndrome - more in woman
- CYP11B1 and aldosterone synthase fuse, and cells secrete aldosteron in response to ACTH - can be managed with steroids to lower ACTH.

Less then 2 cm Usually on the left side Yellow Cells are filled with fat If treated with spironolactone can see spironolactone bodies - pink thingy.

Bilateral idiopathic hyperplasia - Effects
A
Causes 5-10% of secondary high BP, 20% are resistant to treatment.
