- extracting the juice (through heat or maceration)
- keeping the poultice in place for 15-20 minutes

the pulp is placed in the middle of a cloth, folded, and applied with the single thickness side against the skin

how is an onion poultice prepared?
- slice the onion in half and peel it
- steam for 3-4 minutes until slightly soft and translucent
