Transnational corporation-

Gross domestic product per person
amount of money country earns a year divided by the population

What is an LIC?
Low income country
earning less than $1000

What is permafrost?
soil under the earth is permanently frozen
What are push factors?
a factor that pushes you away from an area/ place
What are pull factors?
a factor that pulls you in to an area or place
What is intensive farming?
automatic farming that uses machinery.
Not needing many workers but uses machinery and pesticides.
What is traditional farming?
Farming that is manual uses horses and people not machinery and pesticides.
What is bioaccumulation?
animals take in oil through environment (breath) after years of oil building up inside of them the animal dies.
What is biomagnification?
animal eating another animal that has had oil, leading it to die.
e.g a bear eating a fish which has got oil in its system from eating plankton which are contaminated by the water
What is urbanisation?
the increase in % of population living in urban areas.
What is a megacity?
A city with a population higher than 10 million
What is SMOG?
smoke + fog
