What are the 3 elements of the manager’s mission?
1) Managing requires that you set performance objectives, which will be achieved by using ressources such as time and money.
2) Managing requires making adjustments along the way.
3) Managing is an exercise in monitoring the variations between results achieved ans objectives set.
What is an indicator?
Formed from a set of data or observations, the indicator informs the manager about a given phenomenon in order to facilitate decision-making.
What is an effectiveness indicator?
A parameter used to assess wheter a person possesses a given competency.
What is an efficiency indicator?
An indicator that informs the manager about the amount of ressources required to achieve the expected results.
What is the process for the optimal use of indicators?
1) Measure (collect data)
2) Analyze (Compare/Break down)
3) Evaluate (evaluate/make a judgement)
4) Decide (decide/announce and action)
What is an HR operational dashboard?
It is a dashboard that informs decision-makers about the achievement of HR domain objectives (effectiveness of staffing, training, occupational health and safety practices, etc.) and the use of time and financial resources to achieve those objectives (cost and duration of staffing, cost and duration of training, cost of workplace accident, etc.)
What is a dashboard?
It is a management tool consisting of a set of indicators that gives the most complete and exhaustive possible picture of a complex reality.
What is an attitude?
It is a positive or negative state of mind toward an object, a decision, or other people. Attitude determines to a certain extent, an individual’s actions.
What is a behaviour?
It is an action performed by a person, usually preceded by an intention.
What is the concept of job satisfaction?
It is the positive or negative attitude of employees toward their work, team, organization, etc.
What is the process of attitudes and. behaviours?
Attitudes –>Intentions –>Behaviours.
What is an emotional commitment?
It is an emotional attachment employees develop to their manager, team or organization.
What are rules of interpretation?
Is is a body of principles that dictate how the indicator and its variation are to be interpreted.
What is absenteeism?
It is a failure of employees to report for work or to remain at work as required by their schedule.
