Q

How negative emotions can be reframed?

A

Tiredness can be reframed into satisfaction, while fears can be reframed into opportunities. Reframing is an activation of the prefrontal cortex in a face of a challenge. Everyone can activate their special part of the right hemisphere by flipping the view deliberately. Reframing put problems into the real context by reframing to the complete full picture.

Q

Issues are the subjects of the matter. What does it mean?

A

For example, if someone calls themself “bad at math”, the issue is with the level of math learning, not in their personal qualities. Personal confidence should not be the problem.

Q

What are transitive and intransitive goods?

A

Transitive goods are obtained by direct action and can be easily taken away. On the other hand, intransitive goods are much unlikely to be destroyed. Obtaining knowledge is intransitive! We are constantly focused on transitive goods: presentations, events, and exams. Good work will also result in the growth of intransitive goods: knowledge, skill, virtue, and bond.

Q

How to measure challenge?

A

The Stretch is the recommended challenge measure. There is no general definition of the best practice for setting up the challenge. The ultimate answer is on which method gives the best sense of the Stretch when the challenge has been put into the mind with an aim for it. The degree of Stretch in every hour of work really determines how much the person is growing.
