What was the Truman Doctrine?
It was put in place to stop countries being forced to become Communist by outside pressures by the USSR

America would give money to countries that were at risk of becoming Communist to stop it. The money would be given back with interest
How did Truman believe the Marshall Plan would contain Communism?
Because if the people in countries at risk of becoming Communist stay above the poverty line, they will be happier so won’t need to turn to Communism
