how did henry vii consolidate power through the nobility? Flashcards

1
Q

act of attainder

A

This declared a landowner guilty of rebelling against a monarch; the attained noble lost his title, lands and sometimes his head; his heirs were disinherited.
However, they could be reversed if the attained showed good behaviour.
This led to parliament granting Henry the custom revenues of tonnage and poundage for life.
