HOT WEATHER OPERATION Flashcards

Q

Initial considerations to keep cabin cold:

A

*PACKS ON, COOLING air supplied if OAT 40C protect electrical and electronic equipment.
*Cooling air outside source available, plug in immediately after engine shutdown, only removed before start.
*Door, windows, cargo doors, closed much as possible.
*Elec components turned off in FD
*Open Pax gasper outlets, close window shades.

Q

After engine start, considerations to cool cabin?

A

Pneumatic pressure from engine bleed air system not sufficient for cooling during extended grounds ops - Use APU bleed air instead to supply packs. Follow supplementary proc for this.

Q

Considerations to help with brake temps?

A

*Brake temp buildup series short sectors - energy accumulative
*Extend LG early
*In flight cooling time - Brake cooling schedule PI QRH
FLight planning - high temps inflict performance penalties.
alternate TO proc - No engine bleed TO, Improved climb.
