They are chemical messengers
What is a gland and what type of gland produces hormones?
A gland is a organ that contains cell which produces substances
Endocrine gland- releases hormones into the blood
Example of negative feedback
Body temp increases to high-nerve cells in skin and brain- temperature regulatory center in brain- sweat is produced
Body temperature regulation
Where is TSH stored and what’s its function
TSH-Thyroid,stimulates the thyroid gland to secrete it’s own hormone call thyroxine
FSH and LH where made and how do they perform
FSH, made in the pituitary gland in the brain, it works on your ovaries and matures eggs
LH, made in the PERTURATY gland, it works on the ovaries and releases eggs
Oestrogen and progesterone where are they made and what do they do?
Oestrogen-made in the ovaries, it works on the maturity gland, it makes the maturity gland produce LH
Progesterone-made in the ovaries, it works on the uterus, it builds up and maintain the uterus lining
Name the two locations of LH and FSH
For females-it’s in the ovaries and stimulates them to produce oestrogen and progesterone
For males-it’s the testes and stimulates them to produce testosterone and sperm
