A
  • When homeostasis fails, it usually means disease/illness or injury to the body
  • A common disease for this is Diabetes

Why do we sweat when we are too hot?

A
  • To bring the temperature back to normal by letting the body sweat
  • Evaporation cooling - as the liquid evaporates it cools

  • Lowers blood pressure by reducing the the water in our body that we don’t need
  • Activates baroreceptors

A

What is an example of homeostasis

A

Blood sugar is another example of homeostasis. A hormone called insulin metabolizes the sugar in our blood so that it doesn’t stay in our blood and is used as fuel for energy.
