What areas should you investigate about the current pregnancy?
LMP Contraception EDD Diagnosis Scans (anomalies, growth, placental location) Planned method delivery and feeding Medical illnesses during pregnancy Fetal movements, labour pains
What are early signs of pregnancy?
Amenorrheoa, nausea, increased frequency micturition, tiredness, mood changes
What are important symptoms to investigate in a pregnant woman?
N+V Abdo pain Vaginal bleeding (fresh, clots, tissue) Dysuria/frequency Fatigue Head-ache/visual changes
What areas should you investigate about previous pregnancy?
Gravidity, Parity, No. lost
Pregnancy details: Date of delivery, length of labour, multiple fetuses, induction of labour, mode of delivery, weight and health of babies
Complications (antenatal/postnatal/labour)
Miscarriages/terminations/still-births
General PMHx
Relevant medical conditions (e.g. thromboembolic diseases, diabetes, pre-eclampsia, epilepsy, hypothyroidism, neoplasia, psychiatry, HIV)
Medical surgeries
Immunisations
Drug History
Pregnancy medications: Folic acid, iron, antiemetics, antacids
Teratogenics: ACEi, sodium valproate, methotrexate, retinoids, trimethoprim
